So sad...

Our beautiful bayou areas have once again flooded. Many friends and co-workers once again are bailing out their homes and trying to rebuild. Our swamps and natural seafood estuaries are again flooded with salt water which will continue to destroy them and kill the majestic cypress and oak trees that are native to our area. We are in desparate need of federal funds to fight coastal erosion in our parish - since we are the fastest eroding land mass in the continental United States. But if history repeats itself we will not be given the funding necessary and eventually this area will no longer exist. Once again - Gee and I have to face facts - we didn't move far enough - time to move again. We both love Louisiana and want to stay here close to family and friends - so where to we go?

We would always love to have you closer, even though the reason would stink.

Don't even get me started! I'm so tired of hearing the nation discuss the "stupid people" who chose to live where it floods." Apparently, they don't get that the "necessary" canals that help them to have "low" gas prices have destroyed our natural protection from hurricanes. And the worst is when the critic is from New Orleans...HELLO...OUR COMMUNITIES WERE SACRAFICED TO SAVE YOURS! The least they could do is show a little sympathy!
